A storyteller through the mediums of writing, acting and
music Miselwa Ngamlana aka “Missy” is an upcoming creative
ready to take on the world.
In 2015, Ngamlana went on to pursue her studies at AFDA
Cape Town where she studied Live Performance. The road to
graduating was not easy as she was suspended in her third
year because of an outstanding amount of her school fees
(2017). This is when a group of friends and Miselwa came
together and started a crowd funding campaign under
Back-a-buddy that got her back in class. She was then featured
on the “feel good story” segment on SABC 2’s Morning Live,
newspaper articles such as Sunday Times, City Vision, Cape
Argus and interviewed by Shadow Twala on SAfm sharing her
story.
In 2019, Miselwa decided to make the move to Johannesburg,
coming from Khayelitsha where she got together with a
friend venturing into the business side of the industry as a co-owner
of Slate 2 Productions.
Today Missy is working on her upcoming EP “Monologues” while pushing her single
“Unavailable” which expresses her emotions on “how us
millennials are emotionally unavailable.” – Missy.
